Hunger sounds, Hi-Fructose colors and some Kinfolk pencils- A Perfect Sunday

these little things
more colors, more sounds
you were mine, before you where theirs
Trade me the sky for these colors
those mountains, always
These mountains, always
tools of the trade
Colors, pens and my blacks
X-Formula Nailpolish colors
Hi-Fructose, Hunger and Kinfolk

What’s a perfect Sunday to you?

After spending Saturday having a Batman movie marathon with the boyfriend (the Nolan ones if you’re curious) and searching for perfect scarves that were available in the realm of no-where and never (Alexander McQueen, who knew I would be such a sucker for your clouds of strange gothic loveliness to lace around a slightly chilly neck ) and makings surprisingly tasty Sesame Noodles ( surprising because I didn’t burn anything AND both of us ended up with full bellies) I wanted to spend Sunday in pools of color, dipping my creativity in chilly water and marking up pages with loose lines and mountains.

I’m sure my neighbors think i’m at least half insane when I tie up my curtains to dance in the light with paint and music. But well, at least i’m giving them a good show yeah?
Happy weekends ya’ll < 3

A Story, In Few Words- Photography Practice and Missing Cups o’ Joe

Wipe those eyes, brush brushChristian Dior and Gold Stuff Baked, in my makeup bag Lipstick, and here's that pale skin the sun hates

Recently I had someone tell me “I like your blog, it’s not like….about makeup and stuff.” And I remember that my face scrunched up a little and I stared at my fingernails with the kind of intensity that you can only achieve when you know exactly what you want to say, but you’d really rather not say it.

Nope, I don’t blog about makeup (or “stuff” really….I kinda just throw stuff on here and pretend it’s a cohesive train of intentions) but I can tell you that 60 % of the blogs I follow, they do. And while I don’t think I have ever really gleaned true knowledge from those blogs, it’s more because of the human disaster that I can be rather than a failing on said bloggers.

I admire them though, and the courage to put myself out there, out here, it comes from them. So no, you’re never going to read a blog post here about the best mascara to use, or if primer really is useful when it comes to anyones routine (seriously, is it? Someone answer this…), and I won’t even share the one and only time I tried to use a blowdryer and ended up smacking myself in the face and scorching my neck with what I consider inappropriate Mordor-level-heat. But man, don’t use my blog as an example of the “right” way to blog or whatnot. Because 1, my blog is an utterly inconsequential mess, and 2, there’s no such thing. If you want to blog about makeup, do it. Want to write about Thomas Paine’s ideas and his influence on the American Revolution, yes, right on. Not everyone’s going to like everything that’s out there, obviously, and this sort of rhetoric maybe only fits certain aspects of the blogging sphere, but when at all possible, build people up, don’t tear them down. Maybe, yeah? And now for more coffee….
